I met with Albert Henderson, Corporate Director of Education in Inverclyde. This was a very productive session establishing working relationships with Albert – in the course of the meeting I was introduced to John Mundell, Chief Executive of the Council.
I spoke to the Mental Welfare Commission practitioners group. I laid out my strategic aims and we discussed various issues around mental health and young people – for instance, age appropriate in patient care and access to CAMHs services, particularly for looked after young people.
I attended the Scottish Refugee Council 25th Anniversary reception held in the Great Hall, Edinburgh Castle. Interesting discussions with Christina McKelvie and Anne McLaughlin regarding children’s rights issues.
