I chaired a Holyrood conference on Early Years and progress in terms of policy implementation.  The final speaker was Susan Deacon, author of the recent ‘Join the Dots’ report into early years implementation who presented a challenge in terms of the urgency of implementation.  My impression is that the early years agenda is here to stay and will continue to be a priority for whatever government comes in after the May election.  The key issue will be how the next government addresses the issue of implementation as a national priority and how they will ensure sufficient resources for consistent implementation across Scotland.
