I chaired the Centre for Addiction Research and Education Scotland (CARES) conference, Dundee (80 delegates). Some really interesting speakers and I learned a lot in terms of the research based on addictions and the impact on adolescent neurological development. This has an interesting link to development of better finely tuned responses in the early years.
