Cathy Begley and I attended a GLOW meet organised as part of the promotion of the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools initiative. This was mainly an event promoting Rights Respecting Schools and my own input was modest. There were an estimated 40 schools involved including 1500 pupils.
I visited FUSE Youth Cafe in Glasgow, Shettleston. I was welcomed by the enterprising young person who invited me to the youth club. I spoke to 12-15 young people who attended (mainly primary age at the time of my visit) and they had varying levels of knowledge about UNCRC and my role as Commissioner.
