I met with John Frank and Rosemary Geddes – two of the authors of the scoping study on early years interventions in Scotland which has been used in the latest Scottish Government economic modelling on the costs for implementation for early years framework. It was a most stimulating session on the challenges for the incoming Scottish Government administration.
Maire McCormack and I met with Angela Canning and Beth Hall, both from Audit Scotland. The meeting was an opportunity for share agendas, and particularly helpful to encourage Audit Scotland to consider key issues for children in their future portfolio of work – for instance, young people leaving care, women in custody, reductions in children’s budget and the provision of services for children affected by substance misuse or alcohol misuse.
