I attended a meeting of the Joint Officer Group on Health Improvement in Glasgow, chaired by Linda de Caestecker. The meeting also had in attendance, Naomi Danquah (UNICEF) on promoting child friendly communities initiative. The meeting agreed to progress this proposal and seek senior official support. It was clear that this is an excellent opportunity to highlight the child rights agenda, although was still to be agreed what the next steps will be – I expressed a view that I would be interested in contributing to what could be a very interesting initiative.
