I spoke at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Conference, along with the other three Children’s Commissioners in the UK. My slot was addressing the issue of the implementation of Article 12 and some of the challenges in listening and acting on the views and opinions of children and young people.
I later met with Professor Greg Maio (Cardiff University). Greg has an interest in adult representations of children, and his work is relevant to the office’s intention to impact on how children and young people are perceived in society. I may get the opportunity to follow up in future visits to Cardiff.
