Meeting with Keith Brown, Minister for Skills and Further Education. I outlined strategic approach and raised issue of youth work not having a statutory footing and subject to disproportionate cuts as a result. Keith was interested in proposals around the future organisation of services for children and open to further discussion on alternative models.
Meeting with Alan Miller, SHRC – part of a regular meeting pattern. Alan gave a heads up on the proposed launch of the commission on historical abuse in children’s homes run by Quarriers.
