The Commissioner is currently looking for a Policy Officer.
About the position
Salary Range (£31,746 - £38,598)
Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People is seeking to appoint a Policy Officer. This post offers the right candidate the chance to make a real difference to children’s lives in Scotland in a dynamic and fast changing policy environment.
You will have a minimum of three years experience in policy development and an excellent understanding of human rights. You will work alongside the policy team within the Commissioner’s office, developing and formulating policy responses and will support the Commissioner in taking forward his role to promote and safeguard children’s rights in Scotland.
You will:
- be used to working with politicians and policy makers
- have an excellent understanding of the Scottish policy and practice landscape
- have a good track record in influencing policy and legislation.
You must be committed to children’s rights and be used to operating in a flexible working environment, on a diverse range of tasks. You should be able to demonstrate sound judgement, able to act on your own initiative and prioritise your own workload.
