All about SCCYP

SCCYP promotes your rights, give you a voice and help change things for the better.

SCCYP stands for Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People (it's easier to say 'Skip'!).

Scotland’s Commissioner is Tam Baillie - Tam’s job is to look after your rights and the rights of every other young person in Scotland.

He spends a lot of time listening to young people like you through this website and in person, to help him safeguard and promote your rights.

There are three main things that Tam and his team can do for you:

KNOW your rights

We make sure you know exactly what your rights are and what you can do if you think they are not being respected.

PROTECT your rights

Your rights are protected under law and we help them stay that way.

INFLUENCE change

We make sure your rights are taken into consideration when decisions are made by governments and other groups that might affect you.

Why don't you find out more about Tam, meet the SCCYP team or let us tell you our story?
