Introduction

The Policy and Research element of SCCYPs work helps the Commissioner keep an eye on whats happening in the Scottish Parliament (e.g. looking at which new laws may affect children & young peoples rights) and commissions and publishes research into issues that are important to children and young people.

It also looks at the policies and practices of organisations and government bodies to ensure that theyre consulting with young people on issues that affect them and working in a child and young person friendly way.

We provide an information & signposting service to adults, including parents, grandparents, teachers, social workers, doctors and childrens rights officers etc. This means that if someone calls us with a problem, we can use our knowledge to find the information they need or suggest who might be best able to help.
